For the purposes of data protection law, Black Label Grading Ltd is the data controller for the personal information described in this Privacy Policy. We process personal information in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Information you provide: we collect personal information you voluntarily provide when you place an order or submit items for grading, create an account, contact us for support, subscribe to marketing communications, or participate in promotions, competitions, or surveys. This may include identity and contact data (name, email, phone number, postal address), order and account data (order details, submission details, declared values, communications), billing data (billing address, payment confirmation details), and preferences (contact and marketing preferences). Payment data: payments are processed by third-party payment providers (for example, Stripe and Klarna). We do not store full card details. Where you choose Klarna, we may share contact and order details with Klarna so they can assess eligibility and provide payment options, under Klarna's own privacy notice. Information collected automatically: log and usage data (IP address, pages viewed, dates/times, clicks, referring URLs), device data (browser, device type, operating system, language), and approximate location derived from IP address. We also collect information through cookies and similar technologies (see section 7).

We use personal information to: provide and manage our Services (processing orders, managing submissions, customer support); fulfil and manage payments and prevent fraud; send service-related communications (order updates, shipping updates, changes to our Terms or Policies); maintain security and prevent misuse; comply with legal obligations (tax, accounting, legal claims); improve our Website and Services (analytics, troubleshooting, performance monitoring); and send marketing communications only where permitted by law and in line with your preferences.

We rely on one or more of the following lawful bases: Contract, where processing is necessary to provide our Services and fulfil your order; Legitimate interests, where processing is necessary for our business operations (fraud prevention, improving services, customer support), balanced against your rights; Legal obligation, where we must comply with legal requirements; and Consent, where you have given consent (for example, certain marketing communications and non-essential cookies). You can withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent.

We share information only when necessary to deliver the Services, comply with law, protect rights, or with your consent. Service providers (processors): payment processors (e.g. Stripe, Klarna), email and customer communications platforms, analytics providers (e.g. Google Analytics), website hosting and platform providers, and IT/security and operational tooling. These providers may only process personal data on our instructions. Grading companies, couriers, and logistics partners: we may share necessary information (name, address, shipment details, declared value/service level details where required) with the grading companies you select (PSA, CGC, Beckett Grading Services) and with couriers used for transit and delivery. Legal and regulatory disclosures: where required to comply with law, legal process, or lawful requests, or to protect rights, safety, and prevent fraud. Business transfers: if BLG is involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Some of our service providers and partners (including grading companies and certain technology providers) may process personal information outside the UK, including in countries that may not provide the same level of data protection. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we use appropriate safeguards required by UK GDPR, such as UK adequacy regulations, the UK's approved contractual safeguards (standard contractual clauses/addendum), or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

We use cookies and similar technologies (like pixels and web beacons) to operate and secure the Website, remember preferences, analyse performance and usage, and support marketing where permitted. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect parts of the Website. Where required by law, we will request consent for non-essential cookies (for example, analytics and marketing cookies).

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Services and manage customer support, comply with legal and regulatory obligations (including tax and accounting), and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. For example: order, invoicing, and accounting records may be kept for up to 6 years; customer communications may be retained for a reasonable period for support and dispute handling. Where information is no longer needed, we delete it, anonymise it, or securely store it until deletion is possible.

We use appropriate technical and organisational security measures designed to protect personal information. However, no online service can be guaranteed 100% secure. You should access the Website within a secure environment and take steps to protect your accounts and devices.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 or market to them. If you believe we have collected information from a person under 18, please contact us at info@blacklabelgrading.com and we will take reasonable steps to investigate and delete it where appropriate.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: request access to your personal information; request correction of inaccurate data; request deletion (in certain circumstances); object to processing (including direct marketing); request restriction of processing; request data portability; and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Marketing preferences: you can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us. Some browsers offer a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") setting. There is no consistent industry standard for responding to DNT signals, and we do not currently respond to them. If standards change, we may update this notice.

We may update this privacy notice from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by a revised "Last updated" date. Where changes are material, we may notify you by posting a notice on the Website or by contacting you where appropriate.
