As most of the community are aware, grading companies have seen an unprecedented increase in submissions over the past year. The pandemic has also meant that normal measures to cope with this high demand have been unsuccessful. This has unfortunately meant that turnaround times have dramatically increased across the industry.
Beckett have been working around the clock to try and keep up with the backlog of cards that has amounted. However, they have been unable to reduce the turnaround and have been looking at new measures to do so.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR BLACK LABEL GRADING?
1. PRICE RISES
Beckett will be increasing their prices significantly to slow down demand, and reduce the backlog so they can decrease turnaround times. This in turn means we will have to raise our pricing. We are working hard to keep our margins lows for our customers.
Once we have revised our pricing we will announce this on our social channels and via our website.
2 NO QUANTITY DISCOUNTS
It’s also likely that Beckett will be removing quantity breaks from their pricing structure. This in turn means we will remove this temporarily from our service levels.
3 NEW SUBMISSION DEADLINES
We aim to keep our submission deadlines as the third Friday of every month.
However, February’s submission deadline has been brought forward to:
Friday 5th February
Any submissions received after the 5th February will be subject to new pricing (or we’ll be happy to return your submission to you).
4. TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF SUBMISSIONS
Please note we will be temporarily closing down submissions to Black Label Grading from 5th February until the new pricing and structure has been communicated. This is to avoid disappointment.
We believe these measures to be temporary to decrease the backlog and reduce turnaround times as quickly as possible and look at this in a positive light. We are all in the pandemic together and we hope to weather the storm with you.
